Flood Zone Determinations
As a result of the National Flood Insurance Reform Act (NFIRA) of 1994, all federally associated lending institutions are required to provide evidence of flood insurance for a loan on a structure, or structures, located within a designated flood hazard area. Intermountain Hazards hand map and thoroughly evaluate each flood zone determination request. We do not believe in utilizing a database mapping system because of the potential for an inaccurate determination.
Our Map Technicians use all available data to ensure a quick turn around time, usually within two hours. You will be notified within two hours of receipt of your request should we need additional time to complete the determination. Of course, rushes are at no extra charge.
In accordance with NFIRA of 1994, our regulatory compliance team tracks each life of loan flood zone determination for flood map changes. We subscribe to FEMA’s flood map change service to ensure our database and flood maps are always current.
We guarantee each of our flood zone determinations unconditionally and back that guarantee with errors and omissions insurance and liability insurance.
